RCE Helps Prevent Suffering & Abandonment for At-Risk Families

RCE is committed to helping families help themselves. As a part of RCE’s development and relief program, and in partnership with local churches, RCE provides micro-economic assistance and interest-free loans to help strengthen families. This assistance has two goals for each Romanian family: help avoid abandonment of their children to the state, and enable self-sufficiency over time. RCE helps break the cycle of poverty and prevents more families from disintegrating.

Hundreds of patients provided for each year

RCE’s Dr. Daria brings free medical care to poor elderly villagers cut off from a doctor in the Transylvania Mountains and RCE provides dental and medical assistance to many poor children and families every year.

It's a fact:

• Loads of firewood kept many poor families warm through winter

• RCE’s mercy ministry is extended through partnerships with local churches

• 90 no-interest loans, averaging $630 with 96% success rate of repayment, helped many families break the cycle of poverty

• Over 300 hundred needy families helped each year

• Cows, pigs, chickens, sheep and goats were given through RCE’s alternative Christmas program

• Thousands of pounds of potatoes feed the hungry

• Roofing, rebuilding, restoring unsafe dwellings is the labor of many American and Romanian hands – volunteering their time and talents to care for the poor
