"My name is Andreas. I am in the fifth class in my village of Sintana. I used to live at Darius House with my brother, Crinel. In 2006 God gave me and Crinel a family. Mother, Savina, father, Costica, sister Lida, brother Petru. I like to go in the church and one day when I grow up I want to be a doctor. I thank God for my family."

'There is wideness in God's mercy, like the wideness of sea' and it can be seen in the smile of Andreas and heard in his simple words. His testimony touched the hearts of hundreds in Washington D.C., who heard him speak in English with poise and dignity that is astonishing for a boy once abandoned and considered so disabled he would never be able to learn. He told his story in churches, school chapel services, and at the RCE Annual Event on November 3rd. His Excellency, the Romanian Ambassador to the United States, Adrian Vierita, and his wife Codrina, were special guests at the RCE Event and they too were moved by the miracle of his life.

"I tell people," Ambassador Vierita said in his remarks, "…that RCE is putting a smile on the face of some of our saddest children and the Romanian Government has taken note and is grateful."

Mihai and Carmen Bocsa, directors of RCE's Placement Program, told the story of other abandoned children 'now smiling' because they have been placed in families. Children like Carina, who after suffering difficult years in a hard institution that left her with deep emotional scars came to live at Darius House where she first experienced God's love. Then in October the Vesa family made her their daughter.

Mr. and Mrs. Vesa took Cosmina (also from Darius House) into their family through the RCE Love House program two years ago. They love and enjoy Cosmina and decided they had room in their house and in their hearts to help another child.

Carina is seen here being greeted by her new sister, six year old Raluca. She understands her new sisters are 'special' and she is very loving and protective of them. Raluca has learned, by the example of her parents, that God expects us to protect, defend, and care for children in need and that when we do so we are the ones most blest.

"If you spend yourself on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed then your light will rise in the darkness, your night will be like the noonday, and the LORD will guide you always."
The Prophet Isaiah.

By God's grace families like the Vesa and Matasaru (parents of Andreas and Crinel) families are bringing abandoned children with special needs out of the darkness and into the light of God's love. Other children (50) have been adopted through RCE's domestic adoption program over the years, these families, however, do not need on going financial support but do remain part of the fellowship of families sharing the burdens and blessings of adoption.

Thank you for your prayers and financial support that makes it possible for RCE to restore justice and make mercy happen for Andreas and Crinel, Cosmina, Carina, and the many more (37 in all) rescued children now at home in RCE's 24 Love House families.
